- Why 6/10
- The next hard, dated catalyst is the PDUFA decision for the starting-dose label expansion of LEQEMBI IQLIK on August 24, 2026 (~2 months away). IQLIK is already approved and marketed for maintenance dosing, so this is a label-expansion binary on a major growth asset at a diversified biotech — impactful but not make-or-break.
Watch the August 24, 2026 PDUFA for the starting-dose sBLA. Approval would allow IQLIK to compete for new patients from day one, not just maintenance, potentially accelerating Leqembi's commercial inflection. Biogen stock is near 52-week highs ($219.72) with a consensus mean PT of ~$220, so much of the Leqembi upside may already be priced in; a CRL or further extension could trigger a pullback from current levels.

Executive Summary
LEQEMBI IQLIK is the subcutaneous (at-home injection) version of lecanemab, an anti-amyloid antibody for early Alzheimer's disease co-developed by Eisai and Biogen. Already approved by the FDA in August 2025 for maintenance dosing (weekly at-home injection after 18 months of IV therapy), it's the first and only at-home anti-amyloid treatment. The key near-term catalyst is the August 24, 2026 PDUFA decision on expanding the label to include starting-dose use, which would allow patients to begin treatment with the at-home injection from day one rather than after 18 months. Leqembi generated ~JPY 88 billion (~$580M) in global revenue in FY2025, and IQLIK is central to Biogen's growth narrative. The drug carries a boxed warning for ARIA (brain swelling/bleeding), a class-wide safety concern. Biogen stock has rallied ~71% over 12 months and trades near 52-week highs, with a mean analyst price target of ~$220.
How It Works
LEQEMBI IQLIK is an antibody (a lab-made protein that targets specific substances in the body) that clears clumps of a protein called amyloid beta from the brain. These clumps are thought to drive Alzheimer's disease. The subcutaneous autoinjector version lets patients (or their caregivers) give a weekly injection under the skin at home, instead of going to a clinic for a two-hour IV infusion.
Trial Status
FDA approved LEQEMBI IQLIK (lecanemab-irmb) subcutaneous injection for maintenance dosing on August 29, 2025, for patients with early Alzheimer's disease who have completed 18 months of initial intravenous therapy. Launched in the U.S. on October 6, 2025. A supplemental BLA for the starting-dose indication (allowing once-weekly subcutaneous initiation as an alternative to bi-weekly IV) was accepted for Priority Review in January 2026 — the PDUFA was extended from May 24 to August 24, 2026, after the FDA requested additional information which it deemed a major amendment.
