Summary

This bill modifies the boundaries of the Talladega National Forest in Alabama. Section 1, Talladega National Forest Boundary Modification: The boundaries of the Talladega National Forest are modified to include land shown on a specific map titled "Talladega National Forest Proposed Proclamation Boundary Addition" dated September 6, 2024. This map will be kept on file and available for public inspection at the appropriate Forest Service office. Within the area shown on the map, the Secretary of Agriculture may use existing land acquisition authorities, including the Weeks Law, to acquire land, waters, and interests in them. Any land acquired will be managed under the Weeks Law and all laws and regulations for the National Forest System. The Secretary must ensure that any private land or waters acquired are obtained from a willing seller by donation, exchange, or purchase using donated or appropriated funds, and, to the extent practicable, without undue delay.
