Summary

This bill amends the Internal Revenue Code to change the rules for wagering losses. Sec. 2, Reinstatement of rules for wagering losses: This section replaces the current tax rule for wagering losses. It says that losses from wagering transactions are only allowed up to the amount of gains from such transactions. It also clarifies that 'losses from wagering transactions' includes any other tax deductions that are normally allowed but are incurred in carrying on a wagering transaction. These changes apply to tax years starting after December 31, 2025.
