Summary

This bill amends U.S. aviation law to require air carriers to transfer funds to ticket agents for cancelled or significantly delayed or changed flights within the same timeframe that air carriers and ticket agents must provide refunds to passengers. Sec. 2, Refunds for cancelled or significantly delayed or changed flights: The bill changes the refund timing rule for air carriers by replacing the word "promptly" with a requirement that refunds be provided no later than the date described in subsection (b). For ticket agents, the bill adds a new timing requirement: a ticket agent must provide a refund to an individual no later than 7 days after the ticket agent receives the funds transferred by the air carrier or foreign air carrier. It also makes a conforming amendment to the alternatives provision.
