Summary

This bill amends federal law to apply existing limits on duty hours for train employees to yardmaster employees as well. It adds yardmaster employees to the relevant sections of title 49, United States Code, and defines a yardmaster employee as an individual responsible for supervising and coordinating the control of trains and engines operating within a rail yard.

Sec. 2, Limitations on duty hours of yardmaster employees: The bill amends section 21103 of title 49 to include yardmaster employees alongside train employees in the heading and throughout the section, and adds "or yardmaster" to subsection (e). It also amends section 21101 to add "a yardmaster employee" to the definition of dispatching service employee and adds a new definition for "yardmaster employee."
