Summary

This bill requires air carriers to notify passengers about delays caused by maintenance or crew rest issues when no replacement aircraft or crew is available. It amends title 49 of the United States Code to add new disclosure requirements.

Sec. 2, Notice concerning maintenance or crew delay: The Secretary of Transportation must require air carriers to immediately provide passengers with an estimated duration of the delay. If no estimate is immediately available, the carrier must first notify passengers that no estimate exists and then provide an updated notice as soon as an estimate is available. Notices must be made via airport public address systems, display boards at or near the gate, and direct notification through text, email, or the carrier's mobile app.
