Summary

This bill amends the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 to require the Employee Benefit Security Administration (EBSA) to submit an annual report to Congress on its investigations. The report must include details on each investigation, such as the office that opened it, the dates it was opened and when documents were first requested, and whether it was concluded within 36 months of that request. If not concluded, the report must explain why and provide an estimated conclusion date. The report must not identify any private parties involved. An investigation is considered concluded when the Secretary stops asserting investigative authority or ends targeted compliance monitoring, as documented in a closing letter.
