Summary

This bill expands the scope of artificial intelligence (AI) training for federal employees beyond the acquisition workforce to include management officials, supervisors, and employees in data or technology positions. It also updates the short title of the original law.

Sec. 2, Expansion of AI training within the executive branch: The bill amends the Artificial Intelligence Training for the Acquisition Workforce Act to add new definitions for "acquisition position," "data or technology position," "management official," and "supervisor." It expands the AI training program to cover these groups and requires the program to include topics such as what AI is, how it works, its benefits and risks, the role of data, risk mitigation, and considerations for developing and managing AI systems. The Director of the Office of Personnel Management may incorporate this training into existing programs and must incorporate participant feedback when updating the program. The short title of the original law is changed to "Artificial Intelligence Training Act."
